EVENTS 2011

…… Meet like minded people and help promote excellence in the construction industry......

Meetings are on 2nd Tuesdays

March 8 - BIM Panel (Past event)

Building Information Modelling, BIM, is a phrase being used on more and more successful projects. Why is this? Is it just a new buzz word, or are there tangible benefits?

Paul Morrell, the Chief Construction Advisor, has publically stated that he is minded to mandate BIM for central Government contracts within five years and this desire is published as a recommendation within the recent IGT report. Constructing Excellence members are urged to ensure that they have the capacity to respond to this challenge.

We have assembled a panel of BIM champions including an architect, a contractor, a consulting engineer and a communications specialist, who are using BIM on live projects and who are involved on pan-industry BIM user groups for establishing protocols and best practice, to give you their thoughts and answer any questions you may have.

Hear their thoughts on what’s good about BIM, where it isn’t working, and how it needs to be developed in the future.

Come armed with your questions. We would be grateful to receive any questions in advance. Please e-mail them to: click here to email Róisín Fogarty
